Flow-proportional sampling

All Swedish Hydro Solutions treatment systems include a final sampling stage where the water quality is verified. If the required limits are not met, the treated water cannot be discharged to the receiving body. With our flow‑proportional sampling equipment, you also gain comprehensive documentation of the system’s performance over time.

Accurate control measurements must reflect actual operating conditions. Grab samples or time‑based sampling often provide a misleading picture, as they do not account for variations in flow rates or contaminant concentrations.

Flow‑proportional sampling collects samples in proportion to the volume of water passing through the system. This ensures that periods of high flow and elevated contaminant loads are represented in the results to the same degree as lower‑flow periods, making the data directly comparable.

Automatic sampling

Swedish Hydro Solutions’ sampling equipment also allows additional sampling events to be triggered — for example, if the flow changes significantly over a short period or if any parameter suddenly deviates, such as pH, conductivity, or turbidity.

Samples are stored in a refrigerated compartment and sent regularly to a laboratory for analysis. The sampling frequency depends on project requirements, and more laboratory tests are typically conducted shortly after commissioning. Over the course of a typical project, clients generally request 1–2 laboratory analyses per week.
